Jeremy Garretson is a native New Yorker, who moved to Orient, LI in his early 20's. He started  shooting in 2005 when he purchased his first SLR while attending Stony Brook University. His early photography classes took him into the darkroom where he was able to learn the fundamentals of photography before diving into the digital world.

His first focus in photography was Urban Exploring (URBEX) which entailed entering into some our region's most interesting abandoned hospitals, factories, mansions and asylums. This is where the excitement of capturing the best photo possible took hold.

Living on the eastern waters of Long Island allowed Jeremy to explore landscape and seascape photography with a particular focus on the relationship between light and weather on its relationship to the natural environment. Jeremy has exhibited his work at Weathered Barn,  Frisky Oyster, First and South, Soundview and ALure, Clovis Point Vinyards and is currently on display at the East End Seaport Museum in Greenport.

His photographs have been featured in the Suffolk Times, the North Forker, Southold Local, Wine Press, Wall Street Journal, Homes of the North Fork and Acres.

Jeremy is committed to giving back into the community and has donated his work for local fundraising auctions.

Recently, him and six other artists joined together and opened the North Fork Art Collective at 19 Front St in Greenport. The space is part gallery and part studio, and allows patrons to deal directly with the artist. The work on display is constantly changing so be sure to stop in regularly.

Jeremy Garretson  is available for photography and post processing consultation. He also offers photography instruction.
